I work from home, which means I spend a lot of time watching youtube videos convincing myself to stay motivated.

For the most part, this isn't a huge issue. I am pretty good at motivating myself. I'm lucky - I love my job.

However, like most people, I have those days where I forgo my to-do list and get sucked into vortex of the internet. When I first started working from home, I would consider these days a lost cause early on.

"Ah, it's 10:00 am and I've spent the past 45 minutes on Pinterest? Guess nothing is getting done today!"

But not anymore! As a remote worker for over a year, I now have a trick up my sleeve. Every time I start to slide into unproductive mess.... I go out into public!

Don't get me wrong - packing up a "work bag" and putting on real pants is very hard, but it has never not paid off.  As soon as I am in public and around other people, I start grinding. Heading to a coffee shop salvages days that would have otherwise been spent watching beauty tutorials.

Also.... since I'm, you know.... a food and travel writer in Pittsburgh.... it helps me see more of the city than just my living room.

This is why Coffee Passport Pittsburgh is the unsung hero of all freelancers and Pittsburgh coffee lovers. I discovered it mid-2017 when I saw one of my favorite coffee shops was participating. When I realized what it was, I was beyond excited!

The Coffee Passport Pittsburgh is the most economical way to explore Pittsburgh's craft coffee scene (which bumpin', by the way).

How the passport works: Purchase a $20 passport which is redeemable for one specialty coffee at 10 different Pittsburgh coffee shops.

Not great at math? That is $2 a drink. Think about how much an "Ancho Chili Latte," "Salted Caramel Macchiato," or "London Fog Latte" (all drinks you can get with the passport) would normally be. Yep. You're going to get save around 50% (or even more) on each drink.

Plus you'll be inspired to try new drinks and see new places!

I love giving Coffee Passport Pittsburgh as a gift! It is GREAT to throw in a birthday card or thank you note. Also, Valentine's Day is coming up.... just saying!

Learn more on their website. The passport is valid for 6 months.
