How to Visit Harry Potter World and Not Lose Your Mind

Let's connect on social media:

You're visiting Harry Potter World In Orlando, Florida, but you don't want to deal with crowds or long lines. I don't blame you.

Well, I have good news for you muggles - it can be done!

It is possible to see all of Harry Potter World in one day, and not lose your mind in the process.

Below I've laid out my plan for conquering HP World Orlando, Florida. Be sure to stick around until the end of the post, as I've shared my general Universal Orlando tips at the bottom!

1: Visit in From February to Mid-March. Go during the middle of the week.

Tuesday-Friday are the best days to visit.

2: Stay in resorts "on-site" so you can get into Harry Potter World one hour early (at 8:00 AM) AND get FREE fast passes

Getting in one hour early and "complimentary" fast passes?! The rooms are worth every penny if you can swing it. Here are the on-site hotels.

They also have to-go coffee in the lobby. I highly recommend grabbing a cup before walking to the park.

3: Be outside the park gates at Islands of Adventure by 7:40 AM

4: Weave to the front of the crowd walking to Harry Potter World.

Running to the front would be a douche move. However, a strategic weave through the crowd is perfectly acceptable.

4: Get pictures while it is empty.

As soon as you enter, start taking pictures. Later it will be filled with people who will be in the background of all of your pictures (muggles, smh).

5: Race to the "Forbidden Journey" ride to be one of the first in line for the day.

The line gets really long later.

6: Skip the Hippogriff ride unless you're with very small children

This ride is for young kids and about 15 seconds long.

7: Go to bathroom to hear Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom.

8: By 8:45 AM, get in line to take the train ("Hogwarts Express") from Hogsmeade (in Islands of Adventure) to Diagon Alley (in Universal Studios, a different park).

This will help you avoid the lines to ride the train later. You'll also be some of the first ones into Diagon Alley when Universal Studios opens at 9:00 AM.

9: Immediately get in line for "Escape from Gringotts" ride

10: Drink Butterbeer, see the dragon breath fire, go down Knockturn Alley

11: Exit Diagon Alley area to see the outside, which is made to look like London.

Look for the Knight Bus and Kreacher in the window at Number 12 Grimmauld Place.

12: The train is different both ways, so ride it back to Islands of Adventure.

13: Explore the Harry Potter shops if you have time

They are kinda a racket(ie: very expensive), but they are really true to the books. Robes, snakes, wands, ect.

14: Explore the rest of the amusement park, but leave by 12:00 PM so you can spend the afternoon at the pool

15: Return to the park at 7:00 PM and enjoy dusk and short lines

1: The best rides are: The Hulk, Spiderman,  and Kong

2: "The Watering Hole" in Jurassic Park land is a great place to grab a drink.

3: If you have another day at Universal, instead of going to Diagon Alley, at 8:45 AM get in line for the bridge into Jurassic Park. You can swiftly walk over to the Kong ride and be one of the first people to ride it for the day.!

4: The water taxis are not the fastest way to get to the park. Walk there on the path. It's scenic and only take ten minutes.

5: Bring protein bars to eat in the park. My favorite are Peanut Butter thinkThin Protein Bars
