Pour Choices - "Blue Moon" Cocktail Recipe

So Maddie, let me get this straight - you take nearly 2 weeks off of blogging, and then you come back to share a cocktail recipe?

Yes folks, that is exactly what I am doing... are you really surprised?

I am calling this a "pour choice."

As a ~writer,~ every time I have a drink it is a poor choice. I could be writing, but instead I am drinking. Pour choice.

Many writers swear by drinking. Plus, I write am writing about food and drink.

PLUS I don't have to prove anything to you!

I figured I should start sharing any cocktail recipes I find and like. You may like them too.

The exact recipe I am sharing comes from Food & Wine. Specifically, a June 22, 2017 article by Carey Jones and John D. McCarthy entitled "3 Crème de Violette Cocktails to Get You Ready for Spring."

I got Crème de Violette for my birthday and I am thrilled.  This cocktail was amazing (and strong - be warned).

"Blue Moon"

Instructions: In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine 2 ounces gin, 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice and 3/4 ounce Crème de Violette. Shake that all up and strain into a cocktail coupe. Garnish with a brandied cherry. - From article

My changes: I added probably closer to 1.5 oz of lemon juice which I strained beforehand.  I also stirred the drink.

I want to make Pour Choices a series on my instagram, but we all know what happens when I promise a series.

Follow me on social media because you actually wont regret it:
