Looking at you, 2017

Where have I been? I landed in Pittsburgh 2.5 weeks ago and what do I have to show for it? Well, if you look at my blog, not much. (Sidenote: the fact I have been back for 2.5 weeks astounds me.)

I am going to quickly defend myself: The holidays were in full swing when I landed in Pittsburgh. Within 12 hours of my plane hitting the tarmac, I was attending my parent's holiday party.  After that it was a whirlwind of social obligations combined with the worst jetlag I have ever experienced.  Throw in a trip to Michigan and a NYE wedding, and here we are: January 4th, 2017.

It is not that I didn't want to be here, alone with my laptop, pouring out my self-deprecating guts...  I was just too busy going to bed at 5:00pm and reuniting with friends I hadn't seen since college graduation.

No worries, though.  All that fun has ended.  It is just me an my laptop again.

So, 2017, I am looking at you.

There are big plans in the works for the year ahead.  I have never felt so motivated an inspired. First off, I am grateful for everyone who followed along in 2016 - I promise things are only going to get better in 2017 (in many ways - I am going to take an online grammar course, among other things).

In summary, this is just a quick check in to let yinz know that I am still here, and am thinking about you often (with a lot of guilt).

In the meantime, I highly doubt you have read everything I've posted, so check all that out here.

Posts should return to their normal sporadic to frequent ratio from here on out.

Once again, thanks for reading in 2016, cant't wait to see what is ahead in 2017!
